Due to many problems with gauge and fit the military is no longer accepting crocheted helmet liners. Below is a pattern for an extremely easy scarf that the soldiers can use. There is no gauge for this project which makes it easier for crocheters to help. Again, we must stress this point, the only colors that the military accepts are BLACK, BROWN, NAVY GRAY, and OVIVE GREEN. There is a varigated yarn from Dark Horse Yarns Rhapsody that is Brown and tan varigated that matches their uniforms that can be used. The yarn must be 100% WOOL! Acrylic will catch fire and wool they stand a chance of survival. We will not accept any donations that come in any other colors that the ones listed. Again, we must stress, no white, off white, cream, light tan, baby blue, pink or any other colors other than the ones listed will be accepted. Thank you for understanding. |
