Private Knitting Lessons:  Beginning Knit, $60.00 – 4 hours class time. Arranged on a private, one-on-one basis, at a time that is convenient for both student and teacher. Class appointments must be scheduled and pre-paid at least 1 week in advance. 

The student is responsible for purchasing knitting needles and their first skein of yarn. We always recommend a reference book of some sort to help retain what you have learned and to refer back to in times of confusion. 

1st class:  Learn how to cast on, the knit stitch, and the purl stitch. 

2nd class:  Learn to read a pattern, pick up dropped stitches, increase and decrease, add new yarn, change colors and bind off. 

It is the student’s choice of starting a project in either the 1st or 2nd class. Your project will depend on how quickly you pick up the lessons. You may take a second round of lessons that would include working on a project.  For further instruction, we recommend the Yarn Heaven University Quick Classes. See below for details.

Private Crochet Lessons:  Beginning Crochet, $60.00 – 4 hours of class time. Arranged on a private one on one basis at a time that is convenient for both the student and teacher. Class appointments must be scheduled and pre-paid at least 1 week in advance. 

The student is responsible for purchasing a crochet hook and their first skein of yarn. We always recommend a reference book of some sort to help retain what you have learned and to refer back to in times of confusion. 

1st Class:  Learn the basic stitches, i.e., chain, single crochet, half-double, double and treble crochet. Stitch combinations, learn to read a pattern. If you’re comfortable, start a project! 

2nd Class:  Review the prior week, learn increases, decreases, changing colors, adding new yarns, questions and answers.
