AUGUST UPDATE

We have a helmet liner delivery date!! Sept. 3 as long as there are no situaitons on their end. I cannot wait to hand these helmet liners over. I can only try to reassure you that each and every donation has been received and will hand delivered to the soldiers. We have heard many concerns, and rumors that ones not up to par will be destroyed. These are rumors and it is not up to us to judge another volunteers work. We will remind everyone as the day gets closer. The website has many features still to be added. I guess I will have a blog spot. I'm allowed to ramble there right? The webcam/live chat feature will be activated. We plan on a virtual tour of the store. We have run into a few technical problems trying to get this done, but soon! Links to great sites and lots more product will be coming as will the shopping cart feature for some of our products. So, please bear with me as I try to get it all up and running. I want to take a few minutes to thank Shirley Penn, for her patience and helping me out during her first week back at school, Lori Torrence, we learned several things together, including Lori would like to teach some crochet classes here at Yarn Heaven, so being looking forward to the Nemo class, Cathe Hubbard and Jen Duffer helped me research the software and all of them gave me the confidence that I needed to undertake this task. I could not have done it, if they weren't there ready to hold my hand. Thanks Ladies, I love the site, and remember we are not done yet. The Oct 10 Hot Springs Arkansas Trip is planned around enough people attending. I think we can have 30 people based on double occupancy. Yes, we will have access to the hot baths and all of the other amenties that Hot Springs offers. The price will include a finishing class with Leslie, and maybe a tips and tricks class. If you are even slightly interested, please contact the shop as soon as possible. If we can fit the price into our budget, we are looking at renting a bus. If you have donated a helmet liner please be sure your name is on the donor page. I would love to have more pictures of finished projects, we love lots to take and put up, please bring your project in and have your picture taken. What a crazy month it has been. My brain has been in overdrive from all that I have/am learning. As you can see we have a whole new website. Still under construciton but moving right along. There are quite a few new features that making surfing our site fun. When you go to our class schedule, you will see a calendar, if you move your mouse over the different color days you will see the class schedule, click on the day of the week and get a description. Take the virtual tour. We are going to take you on a walk through of our store. The first thursday of the month, starting in October we will have our live webcam and live chat enabled and ready to use, we hope you will join us! Click on your favorite yarn company and watch the pictures come to life in a video show with all of the colors on display. The shopping cart is coming. I just need more time. We have some wonderful new items on their way, some being shawl pins. We are always looking for unusual and fun items and hope y'all like what we have found.
